The Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) is based on life cycle cost calculation. The trade-off between different repair policies requires the comparation of through-life cost consequences of the different constellations of the cost parameters.
Therefore both analysis processes will be discussed and the common data and the differences will be discussed. The lecture comprises the presentation of the data elements, respectively the cost parameters. This data list will be grouped and the cost influence of each element is discussed in detail.
As illustration of the analysis process the software tool EDCAS will be used to quickly run calculations and demonstrate the cost effectiveness of data.
The basic equations and application of probability calculation will also be discussed.
LORA and LCC Analysis are used as front-end analysis processes to support the design decision for optimisation of design alternatives, and the analysis processes are used to support the decision about the optimum repair policy. Both processes have basic influence on the whole maintenance and support structure of a system.
